Family Game Night

Image
This week is was game night Wii style. We've decided they should include curling in the Wii sports section, only instead of the broom we would use the Swifter wet jet. My office also houses CNBC which I have now dubbed CBC, continously broadcasting curling . The excitement and fascination in the office is amazing. Everyone has their own take on the sport comparing it to darts on ice, shuffleboard, bowling etc. It took an intern to look it up and tell us the real rules, although the Canadians do not think its funny when we joke around about one of their national past times. Quotes from E-man: E-man: Mommy does Daddy have to go to work today? Mommy: No. E-man: Because its family game night? Mommy: Most people call it Sunday, but yes. Two Takes on the Same Lesson Annie and E-man came home from school saying they had learned about the Presidents Annie: Mommy, I know how George Washington died. Mommy: How? Annie: He got really sick and died E-man: AND ABRAHAM LINCOLN GOT SHOT I...

Valentine's Day

With all the snow this week,(the kids are on their 7 th snow day in a row tomorrow-it will be their 11th for the year) I was not in to Valentines Day. But I did get them some much needed toothbrushes (we tend to let them get hard) and Scott got them sugar candy. A perfect combination. Abegail and Annie switched hair for the day. Abegail gave Annie African braids complete with beads. I gave Abegail a relaxer to straighten her hair. Unfortunately the long braids had more than done their time and had to come out. Then on to our new Sunday night tradition, Family Game night. If you're wondering Scott is doing his Cameron impression, our poor nephew who has a little trouble smiling. Quotes From E-man: E-man: Daddy, why do you always wear that ring? (his wedding ring) Daddy: Ask Mommy. E-man: Mommy, why does Daddy always have to wear that ring? Mommy: Because it magically does his laundry for him.

I am loving my job. I hope I always think its cool to go over the 14 th Street bridge and see the capitol on one side and the Washington Monument on the other. I still think all the stories are exciting and fun and its fun to see all the politicians, especially the men who I am sure wear more hairspray than I do. The biggest thrill of course was State of the Union night. Even my photographer who covered the event for years thought it was cool to see the back of Obama's head from a distance. The biggest moment for me happened in the bathroom. NBC had catered dinner at our bureau and the salad had a few too many onions. I was getting ready to interview Senator McCain and thought I better not have onion breath, so I went to brush my teeth. I was the only one in there, when in ...
