Area Adventures

Image
My sister and her husband have bought a restaurant. But before they can open it, they must renovate it. So we gave them a few hours without the kids the past few week-ends and set off on a couple adventures. Last weekend we headed to Luray Caverns about an hour and a half west of us and saw the caves. They give you headphones to explain the lakes that act as mirrors, the stalactites inside, and even the organ. One channel for kids, one for adults. Annie had just gotten her first loose tooth! So much fun to play with. It was Discovery Day! Extra Crowded but still pretty cool! During the week, it was Annie's turn to empty the dishwasher. But what do you do when you can't reach the cabinet to put the cups away? Gymnastics of course! This week-end we went to George Washington's house in Mt Vernon. We left E-man home with Daddy on this trip. Abegail visited the salon the day before. I took the boys to the salon on the way home from getting them. That's wh...

E-man Goes To Pennsylvania

UPDATE FROM SCOTT: in journalism we call it "burying the lead"....E-MAN'S TEAM QUALIFIED FOR ThE NATIONAL TOURNEY AT ESPN'S WIDE WORLD OF SPORTS COMPLEX IN ORLANDO!! Ok Sue....go ahead. This was the weekend for E-man's team to go play in the Regional Championship in Pennsylvania. The weather was perfect. But the first game was an awakening storm. This is the Regional and the teams were slightly better than at the first tournament in Maryland. Needless to say the boys were shell shocked and lost the first game. The second game better, but still a loss. The third game, they were in their groove and won. The tournament is 3 on 3 with six players to a team. The fields are small and there is no goalie. The point is for a tournament of skill and passing and dribbling. All good things for young soccer players. So after three games, the divisions are tallied and needless to say E-man's team or as I should start calling them by their name, the Golden Jets...

Day 3 of E-man's 3rd Surgery

Image
E-man went to his pre -op physical with our pediatrician and she said from exactly this time last year, E-man has gained 14 pounds and grown three inches. She at first expressed concern about how much weight he has gained going from 48 pounds to 62 pounds in a year. Then she looked at him, "wow he is all muscle. Never mind what I said about the weight issue." Since this is E-man's third surgery to try and correct the ptosis of his left eye, where the eye lid droops down of over his eye, we were very non chalant going into it. We know the drill, even E-man knows the drill. "They will put that blue mask over my mouth that tastes bad right?" Right. "And I can't eat breakfast but I will ask you for a snack." To which I'll say no. We head into surgery in the morning, Scott had to work, but hey we've been here before, we don't need Daddy, I'll text him all the vitals. E-man plays his DS and cheers every time he scores while every...
