Packing up the car

Well...we're packing up the car this morning and getting ready for our 17+ hour car ride to Rochester, NY. A&E have never been to grandma's house and they're pretty excited!!

With high airfare and high gas prices...not to mention 3 kids...I'm not sure which one would be worse. But we've chosen to drive and I'm having flashbacks to my childhood when flying to a family vacation destination was unheard of! Nope...we packed everyone into the car - me in the "way back" - and we hit the open road. I'm not sure if we're looking to recreate our fond childhood memories for our own children...or if we're just trying to avoid the embarrassing nightmare of inevitable airport meltdowns?!?! So instead, we're going to endure the 17 hour trek packed into the family van.

And Sue wonders if we should stop somewhere and stay for the night. HA! Heck no!!!! I'm driving through the night so I can enjoy the peace and quiet of everyone sleeping!!!

All I can say is thank goodness XM satellite radio carries all the Twins' games!! It's not a complete fix for my baseball addiction - but it beats nothing!

Everyone get in the car. Get in the car. E-man, get in the car. GET....IN....THE....CARRRRRR!!!!

Bedtime

Abegail had a tooth pulled yesterday...so we told her to put her tooth under her pillow and the tooth fairy might come to take it and leave her some money. She was SUPER curious about the tooth fairy all day. Question after question..."Daddy, what does the tooth fairy look like? What will happen if I wake up while she's there?" Then after about the 15th question, I realized it was probably a bad idea to even mention the tooth fairy. By 8:30 last night, EVERY child was scared to go to bed because they were terrified of the tooth fairy creeping into their room while they were sleeping!! Abegail put the tooth under her pillow and then refused to sleep in her bed. She wanted to sleep on the floor...and then so did the other two. First Day of School

Today is Abegail's first day of school !!! And like our parents did for us...we made the kids pose for pictures! Unfortunately I wasn't able to take a picture in focus until the bus arrived. Oh well, Annie was picking her nose anyway. Abegail got onto the bus like a real pro!! She was soooo excited! As you can see...Annie and E-Man were skeptical. Frankly, E-Man was quite concerned.

Annie makes Travel Soccer

Annie made the FPYC travel Soccer Team!  It is the same club as Eman.  (so yes Eman you will have the same uniform.)  She was so excited she said, "my face hurts from smiling so much!"  Then she said, "I haven't been this happy since I was 6!"  She has her All Star Tournament for her current team this weekend. Then on to joining A&E in Travel!
