A Tour of AJAX Stadium

We've been able to do a little sightseeing on our Soccer Tour.  On Tuesday, the boys got a tour of Ajax Stadium in Amsterdam.  Ajax is one of the top professional clubs in the world.  The stadium was incredible and the boys really enjoyed seeing what is possible if they work hard enough.


We got to go down to the field level...but not onto the field itself.  They had brought in these artificial lights in order to help the grass grow.  The stadium has a retractable roof and as a result, the grass doesn't get quite enough sunlight.


The boys also got their picture taken down there on the field.  Then they were able to go down to the locker rooms, the press conference room, and into the players lounge.  Pretty swank!!


I think E-man had a pretty good time.  The stadium really was amazing.  The 50,000+ seat stadium offers a "visitors section" that is protected by bullet-proof glass, and has nets surrounding it so that items thrown from those seats don't hit the fans down below.  Their rivalries are no joke!!

Bedtime

Abegail had a tooth pulled yesterday...so we told her to put her tooth under her pillow and the tooth fairy might come to take it and leave her some money. She was SUPER curious about the tooth fairy all day. Question after question..."Daddy, what does the tooth fairy look like? What will happen if I wake up while she's there?" Then after about the 15th question, I realized it was probably a bad idea to even mention the tooth fairy. By 8:30 last night, EVERY child was scared to go to bed because they were terrified of the tooth fairy creeping into their room while they were sleeping!! Abegail put the tooth under her pillow and then refused to sleep in her bed. She wanted to sleep on the floor...and then so did the other two. An hour and a half later, I walked into their room and A & E were asleep in E-Man's bed with the blanket pulled up over their heads. And Annie had sneaked away to HER bed. First Day of School

Today is Abegail's first day of school !!! And like our parents did for us...we made the kids pose for pictures! Unfortunately I wasn't able to take a picture in focus until the bus arrived. Oh well, Annie was picking her nose anyway. Abegail got onto the bus like a real pro!! She was soooo excited! As you can see...Annie and E-Man were skeptical. Frankly, E-Man was quite concerned.

Annie makes Travel Soccer

Annie made the FPYC travel Soccer Team!  It is the same club as Eman.  (so yes Eman you will have the same uniform.)  She was so excited she said, "my face hurts from smiling so much!"  Then she said, "I haven't been this happy since I was 6!"  She has her All Star Tournament for her current team this weekend. Then on to joining A&E in Travel!
